FRANCES BE

ERRESERBA AGENTEA: inaki@forbiddencolours.net

[EUS]

Donostian jaiak antolatzen zituen DJen kolektibo bateko kide gisa izandako preludio baten ondoren, Frances Bek 2016an eman zion hasiera bakarkako ibilbideari. Urte hartan, Laurent Garnier bezalako artista ikonikoak zuzenean ikusi ondoren, dena kristalizatu zen. “Gogoan dut industria-nabe batean nagoela”, azaltzen du, “begiak itxi eta nire zentzumenak musikari entregatu nizkion. Nik ere hor egon nahi nuela jakin nuen. Technoarekin amodio istorio batek hasi berri zuen”.
Egun hartatik aurrera, soinu-estetika bat sortu du, non technoa zurrunbilo gisa eratzen den, genero mugakideak erakarriz bere ikuspegi musikala ulertzeko: zentzu emozionala, melodia adimendunak eta kontaezinezko trinkotasuneko progresioak. Technoaren abiadura eta iluntasunean aurkitzen ditu Frances Bek bakea eta lasaitasuna.
Bere imajinario musikala Detroit, Amsterdam eta Berlin arteko nonbaitean dago. Γ‘abarduraz betetako imajinarioa, itzalei bizia ematen diena eta musika elektronikoan hain ohikoak bihurtu diren mugak desitxuratzen dituena. Kabinatik kontatzen du unibertso honen berri, gidoi erritmikoa osotasunari zentzua ematen dion four on the floor bat delarik protagonista.

Kluba da bere ingurune naturala. Raverra eta DJa elkartzen diren espazioa. Izan ere, Frances Be-ri asko gustatzen zaio diskoak ipintzea, baina, azido hipnotiko saio bat, tempo altuko house bat eta etorkizuneko elektroa harilkatzen ari denean ere, bere burua dantza pistan dago, publikoarekin. Bere trebetasun eta konpostura naturalak gatibu hartu zaitzake, eszenatoki zorrotzenen gainean egotea erraza delaren irudipena ematen duelarik. Bere techno estilo hedakorra defendatzen du eta bere ibilbide musikala irudikatzen duen modu berean zuzentzen du.
Frances Be ere KRII kolektiboaren sortzailea eta funtsezko pieza da. Kolektibo horrek jaiak, tailerrak eta hitzaldiak antolatzen eta sustatzen ditu, emakumeak eta elektronikak bat egiten duten espazioa sortzeko xedearekin.

Orain arte Mama Snake, Acid Arab, Avalon Emerson, Eris Drew, Dekmantel Soundsystem, Paul Ritch, Eclair Fifi, Shanti Celeste, Gigi FM, Ana Helder, Violet, Angel Molina, Pional edo Cora Novoa bezalako artistekin partekatu du kabina.

After a prelude as a member of a group of DJs that held parties in San SebastiΓ‘n, Frances Be began her solo career in 2016. That same year, after seeing such iconic artists as Laurent Garnier live, everything crystallized. β€œI remember being in an industrial warehouse,” she explains, β€œclosing my eyes and giving my senses to the music. I knew that I wanted to be there too. I had just had a crush on techno”.

Since that day, she has outlined a sound aesthetic where techno stands as a vortex, attracting neighboring genres to conceive of her own musical vision: emotional sense, intelligent melodies and progressions of incontestable consistency. It is in the speed and darkness of techno that Frances Be finds peace and quiet.

Her musical imagination is somewhere between Detroit, Amsterdam, and Berlin. A nuanced imaginary that brings shadows to life and blurs the boundaries that have become so common in electronic music. A universe that tells from the cabin and whose rhythmic script is starred in a four on the floor that gives meaning to everything.

The club is her natural environment. The space where the raver and the DJ converge. Because Frances Be loves to play records, but even when she’s spinning a session of hypnotic acid, fast-tempo house, and futuristic electro, her mind is on the dance floor, with the audience. She captivates by her natural ease and composure making it seem easy to be on the most demanding stages. She upholds her own expansive techno style and directs her musical trajectory just as she envisions it.

Frances Be is also the founder and key member of the KRII collective, which organizes and encourages parties, workshops and talks to create a space where women and electronics come together.

So far she has shared the DJ booth with renowned artists such as Mama Snake, Acid Arab, Avalon Emerson, Eris Drew, Dekmantel Soundsystem, Paul Ritch, Eclair Fifi, Shanti Celeste, Gigi FM, Ana Helder, Violet, Angel Molina, Pional or Cora Novoa.
